Living Everyday

Do you make New Year resolutions? The long list of what you will fix so that your life is what you desire? I did for years. I was usually daunted by my list of these things wrong or missing in my life. The question popped up- is this helpful? Do I feel let down by my resolutions not being met? Why… yes!

SO… I made a list, my Life List, of all the things I wanted in my life (can you tell I am a list person?) and made a pledge: Everyday I will do something on my list or something to get me closer to my Life List. Instead of focusing on fixing, I am now focusing on doing.

My new motto is simple: EVERYDAY.

One word, one action. This day. Join me on my Everyday and add yours.

20140712_064037Today, I am seeking solitude in nature, part of my promise to myself to find time just for me. A bike ride on the prairie seems just right for this morning. The bike path is smooth and quiet at 7am. Just a few fellow seekers and exercisers. The air is filled with swooping swallows as they chase their morning meal, the tree frogs are still singing and the air is fresh. I pedal quietly by the lake and stop to sit on the bench and watch the grey heron as he is fishing.

At the swimming lake, the seagulls play bird games on the buoys. The game plays like this: gulls sit on the buoys. Once the buoys are full, other gulls fly at them and try to tag them off. That gull then does the same to others. The laughing gulls find this grand fun as they laugh the entire time the game is played! A loud and fun time!
