Each season has a special feeling. We want to celebrate all those special feelings! One way to celebrate is to decorate for each season! Bring in seasonal elements to make your home feel like a vacationThis is my summer living room. Remember- we are southern beach people! So far from the ocean, I bring the Beach Vibe home to the mid-west! Here are some ideas for your “Stay-cation” Summer Home:
- Take up your rugs and walk on the bare floor. Don’t have wood floors? Place a summery feeling area rug on top of your carpet!
- Place seashells in containers around the room.
- Gather natural elements- I have interesting stones, picked up from where ever we go, drift wood collected at the local lake’s edge, feathers from the lake, yard- scattered around and grouped in natural bowels, glass vases, baskets!
- Ceiling fans whirl on low every day, moves the air and adds to the summery feel!
Use a summery scent in your wax burner- my favorite is a creamy sweet coconut , smells like the topics should! Back to music- play ocean waves as background. The sound is relaxing and fills the house with summer!
Open the windows when ever you can, especially at night. Bring in the night sounds as you lay in bed. Play the ocean sounds at night…so romantic!
