Warm Sunny Days
The sun rises early on warm sunny days! Let’s start our daily adventures then! Don’t waste a moment of glorious summer by sleeping late! Up and out! What better time to renew You and Yours perspective than on a long summer day, spent in simple adventure. What simple adventures, you ask? Let’s explore some ideas for your delight!
Sunrise in the Park:
Here is how to do this: set alarm for before sunrise! Jump out of bed- slip in your clothes and grab your flip flops, blanket and coffee! Laugh as you get into the car or on your bike ( brave morning souls!) Head to the lake or your favorite spot to watch the sun rise! Hold hands as you head down, spread your blanket and wait! Be sure to look at each other in the first rays of light! Kiss softly and make a Day Wish! What will it be? Share your wish- it makes it real! No secret wishes here in the first light of day!
Bike Ride
Leisurely bike rides are in order! A cruise around your town, use the bike trails, side roads where you can look around as your pedal. Take a beverage! Stop and chat with neighbors. Pedal to get an Ice Cream cone. Cruise to a nearby restaurant and have a drink on the patio.Take your own snack with you, strap on a blanket and head to an outdoor concert or local soccer game. Cheer for both sides!
What? No bike? Now is the time to get a cruiser. Big box stores carry cruisers in every shape and color! We have delightful Panama Jack cruisers- complete with drink holders, baskets, coolers and bottle openers ( for when you need to open that beverage!) and wide comfy seats! These cruisers are so perfectly balanced you need not strain to pedal.
Evening Stroll
Evening strolls are when you walk slowly, hold hands and speak of things you want to do in the future- vacations, restaurants to visit, food to cook, movies to see, gardens to plant. Make wild plans to sleep in the yard, go star gazing, rent a pontoon (do that one for sure!)! Maybe you will actually do some, maybe not! Find a place of beauty. It is permissible to drive somewhere to take your evening stroll. Something about being around water… Is there a park nearby with a lake, a river walk you can saunter down? Stop and sit on a bench and look over the water. Remember to hold hands!
Happy Hour on the Water
As I have said, there is something about the water. A warm breezy afternoon sitting under the umbrella at a waterside watering hole near the boat dock, watching. Out in the distance the sail boats float on the waves. Look at the wind surfers! You can imagine the squeals of children on the water tubes! Is that a party on that pontoon? Sip your chilled drink slowly. Order seafood- oysters on the half shell – if you are lucky!
Autumn Adventures
Warm sweaters and hoodies, cozy scarves and boots, fall weather has arrived! As sorry as it is to kiss summer good-bye, Autumn is a glorious season! Summer’s sultry pleasures transform to sensuous comforts, full of spicy colors, flavors and sounds.
Let us indulge once more in the abundant experience of the Farmers Market! Fall harvest is a beautiful array for the senses! The sights, sounds and scents of the Market draw us in. We think-home, family, cozy evenings, warm soups and crisp apples, pumpkins, squash and gourds! We want to hold hands, sip warm cider and stroll slowly, our breath making frost in the chilly morning air. Let’s pick out some hearty fall goodies!
First stop- the flower venders! The summer bouquets have turned into enchanting wreaths, pumpkin vessels, shafts of magical dried botancials- I am under their spell!
We wander leisurely through the Market, up and down each aisle. Everywhere are harvest surprises so different, we are enraptured!
Basket full of Autumn’s bountiful yield, we are for home. I think I will make soup for supper, add an easy home made crusty bread and light candles….
Let’s Get Out and About!
The weekend is here! The daily round and work done for now! Time to unwind, relax, enjoy and spend time together! Raise early, this is not the time to sleep away your day! Enjoy a leisurely cup of fresh ground coffee in a chunky mug on your deck or patio. Tour your garden, make plans for the perfect outdoor retreat. Take a blanket and sit under the big tree in the back and listen for nature. Plan your weekend!
The weekend is not the time to complete your household chores or run errands all day- the activities to keep your life running smooth. Consider picking Wednesday for running errands after work or in the evening- take Yours with you! Thursday is the perfect time for household chores- clean, polish, tidy- the weekend is meant for you!
Saturday Summer Joys
The Farmer’s Market
Gather up your basket and sunhat and explore the local Farmer’s Market. Choose fresh and local produce and so much more! Walk slowly, smell and savor the abundance of offerings!
Unforgettable flowers! Grab a bouquet, select a second one! Place in your basket. Yes, that is perfect! Continue to saunter through the Market. Except free samples, smell, touch, admire, hold hands! Maybe another cup of fresh brewed coffee, a herbed tea, a pastie!
Saturday Night- Date Night!!
Did you make plans? Sure, there is dinner out, a movie….
What about something you have never done- check out your local happenings, don’t be afraid to drive a fair distance. Make that part of the date with a glorious ice tea or fresh lemonade in the car, beautiful music (no commercial radio!), pace a small vase of flowers in the cup holder- you know, the ones from the Farmer’s Market. In the back seat, your picnic hamper if that fits your plans!
Tonight, we are headed to the Rodeo!
Cowgirl hat and boots, makes you instantly unstoppable and irresistible! Cowboy hats make every man a wrangler worth noticing!
We know nothing about Rodeos! It is an exciting place! We learn to cheer and suck in our breath and laugh with the crowds! So much fun! We vow to learn more!
Action pictures are hard! Perhaps I should learn more about photography- a mental note!
